East Lambrook Manor Gardens is the iconic and quintessentially English cottage garden created by the celebrated C20th plantswoman and gardening writer, Margery Fish.
Here she developed her talent for combining contemporary and old-fashioned plants in a relaxed and informal manner to create a unique and enchanting plantsman’s paradise of great beauty and charm.

Festival of Snowdrops
Throughout February East Lambrook Manor Gardens is celebrating all things snowdrop with its Festival of Snowdrops. Margery Fish was one of the first ‘galanthophiles’ of the modern era and amassed a significant collection of snowdrops, many of which she planted in an area she named the Ditch and this looks fabulous in February when the sides are carpeted in them. The garden has a special raised display bed so some of its collection of over 150 varieties can be enjoyed at close quarters and there will also be additional special displays throughout the garden. The festival will also feature tours of the snowdrops and over 60 varieties will be on sale in the nursery. Sculptor Chris Kampf will be displaying his steel snowdrops and renowned Bristol-based garden photographer Jason Ingram will be exhibiting prints of the snowdrops he photographed at East Lambrook last year for a feature in this February’s Gardens Illustrated magazine. www.eastlambrook.com |
