Saturday 27th February
Love the planters around the town?

Why not get involved with the core team to plant these with snowdrops on the 6th, and dismantle them on 27th. We just need a couple of extra helpers for both days. This does involve lifting and working with compost so if you're a keen gardener you'll understand that it can be hard work but very rewarding. We start at 9.30am on Saturday, 6th Feb and 10.30am on Saturday, 27th Feb.

Like meeting people?

If you can spare a morning,10-1pm, or afternoon,1- 4pm, why not be part of the team meeting and greeting visitors to our wonderful town. Either based in the Marquee or milling around the Market Place we hand out programmes and direct visitors to the events.

Sunday 16th February 1 - 3 pm
Each year we hold a procession from James Allen's home to his resting place in the Shepton Mallet Cemetery and plant snowdrops on his grave. It's a colourful, lively and celebratory procession passing right through the centre of town - just over half a mile long.

Be a part of the team of marshals who help make sure the public enjoy the procession and remain safe crossing the roads.

Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th February
The gardens at Windsor Hill and the reception area at Highfield House, both historic houses connected to James Allen, are open to the public from 12 till 4pm on Saturday and 12 till 3pm on Sunday. If you're interested in the history of the town and the history of James Allen's snowdrop propagation you may enjoy meeting and talking to people when they visit. Explanatory handouts are available for guides to provide to the public and it's always exciting when we learn snippets of new information and anecdotes from visitors.

We need 2 people to help for both houses for 2 shifts from 12 - 2pm and  2 - 4pm on Saturday and 2 people  from 12 -3pm on Sunday.

Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th February
Snowdrops are a symbol of hope and love and we invite people to celebrate a special person, a special pet or a special moment whose memory they'd  like to remember with a cluster of enduring and ever hopeful snowdrops.

They're invited to plant a small pot of snowdrops in a specially designated area of the churchyard and write a personal entry in the memory planting book.

Would you like to help people celebrate a special person? Could you help inside the Church, taking money for pots of snowdrops, showing people where they can plant them, and looking after the Memory Book where they can write their commemorative words?

We need people to cover  Saturday 10-1pm; 1-4pm; Sunday 11- 1pm; 1-3pm.
