Artists & Makers

Limited edition wood engravings by Georgina Heywood
Georgina is an artist specialising in engravings, inspired by her local natural and built environment. Each print is meticulously engraved and printed by hand.

All of her work is in limited editions; she creates a fixed number of prints, each of which she signs and numbers individually.
Ceramics by Lavinia-Cellan-Jones
Functional but decorative ceramics in stoneware and earthenware clays inspired by the shapes, colours and natural beauty of Somerset.

Prints & Textiles by Joanna Briar
Joanna is a print maker working with lino and wood to create original prints and cards. She uses plant materials and images from nature & the countryside around her, to create designs, which she prints using a vintage book press, or larger etching press.

Recently, she has been exploring Mokulito printmaking ( wood lithography), and experimenting with the the craft of weaving using a rigid heddle loom, combining yarns to complement the textures and colours of her prints.

She produces woven panels, carves, shawls and accessories using a range of natural fibres including wool, cotton, and linen, inspired by the colours of nature.
Her work has been exhibited in Wells and Mendip Museum, Richard Jefferies Museum in Swindon, Bath RUH and ACEarts in Somerton. Once Lockdown is lifted and we move back to a safer tier, look out for details of a new solo exhibition, 'A sense of Place', at the Somerset Rural Life Museum, Glastonbury.
